Great place. A Reading PA institution. My mom and I came here before a showβwe arrived a little after 5:30. The hostess warned us that they couldnβt promise we would be served in time for the 7pm show and we said that was fine. We were still served very promptly and made it to the show with plenty of time. Our food was also delicious.

I am simply blown away by this establishment!! The food was outstanding, the drinks- outstanding, the service and the owner- also outstanding. It was our first time dining here. I found this restaurant on happy cow. We're in town for work nearby and I always struggle to find good vegan options but this place was beyond delicious for both me and my meat eating husband. He had the wings and the scallops. He was full but kept eating because everything was so delicious. He loved the eggnog delight and the peanut butter cup martini (he's not a drinker and hates the taste of alcohol and was ready for more!!) I had the vanilla and the salted caramel moonshines and both completely blew my mind! The vegan options were plentiful and all sounded amazing. I can't wait to try the peanut butter spaghetti. Tonight I hit the vegan chicken parm and I love love loved it. They had various gluten free options as well. We were too stuffed for dessert but the options sounded wonderful too and included a vegan lemon sorbet! The waitress was attentive and made great recommendations and the owner was so sweet and personable!I will definitely be coming back many many times!

Excellent short ribs with spaetzle and mushrooms dish! Great easy-going environment, family-friendly, really good menu (lots of choices plus gluten-free available options). Fenced in parking lot behind the restaurant, off of Cherry Street.

I really wanted to like this place but the hot roast beef sandwich kept it from getting 5 stars. It was that bad. Weirdest gravy and hardly any beef. The fries were great, the free peanuts were great and service excellent. I was surprised there was only one peanut dish on the menu and that was with pasta so I didn't get it. How about some wings with peanut sauce maybe. Besides, the waitress told me it would take about a 1/2 hour for wings because they were so far backed up.

Came into reading for a show at the arts theater. Parking is available right next door. It was our first time at the peanut bar restaurant and it was very warm and welcoming. We made reservations in advance for 5:30. We arrived and weβre seated promptly. Restaurant has spacious seating for two people up to and including multiple families. Nice drink and food menu. We happen to be there on a jazz night which was very pleasant while we dined. Food and drinks came out quick once we ordered. Crab cake had a wonderful garlic sauce, veggies were crisp and flavorful. Bacon burger was cooked to my liking, with lots of bacon on top. Huge dill pickle came with my meal. The whole place was an absolute gem. Will definitely be coming back!!
